Gayaki

Neha Katdare Deshpande is a versatile singer. She has mastery over both classical and semi-classical forms of singing. Her bold, clear voice, brings life to each type of music that she sings. Uttar Hindustani khayal Gayaki, Natyasangeet, Semi-classical forms and light music based on classical are some of the gems in her kitty. A strong and forceful rendition of classical and semi-classical singing is Neha’s identity.
Neha does not sing specific type of music of any specific gharana. Her gurus Aparna tai taught her the Gwalior-Jaipur style and Pt. Vijay Koparkar, who learnt from Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande and Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, synthesized the two styles and created his own style. He never forced any student to adopt any specific style and in fact encouraged them to develop their own distinct style. Hailing from this tutelage, Neha has her own style of singing. Each student has his own speciality in spite of learning from the same guru.
